Working stress can be defined as some kind of physical harassment causes due to the job duties, resources, capability of the employee and many more reasons. The nature of work is changing at whirlwind speed. The concept of working stress is mainly connected with the physical power of the employee. Those who’re in highly physical condition, they try to get performance under the critical situation and win the challenge. But if they do not have a strong mind, they can’t win the situation and they’re suffering from working stress.

Stress and productivity

Working stress is mainly influencing the health condition of the employee and same as the productivity of the organization. Stress working conditions are actually associated with the increased absenteeism, tardiness & intentions by workers to quit their jobs. This kind of situation may be getting high cost to the organization for finding new workers. After recruitments, they should need training & development in the work roles. An organization should invest more in this procedure & it’ll be influenced to the productivity. The output between the training person & the newcomer also has a working gap. This is also influenced by the productivity of the organization. The goodwill of the company will be a collapse in the trade market. Employees are not willing to work in the organization. By considering those things organization should be able to mitigate the working stress (Timothy J. Legg, 2019)

How to change the job stress?

·        Ensure that the workload is in line with worker’s capability

·        Manage resources as well

·        Build good communication & relationship between workers and the management

·        Clearly define worker’s role and responsibilities

·        Provide opportunity for social interaction

·        Give worker’s opportunity to participate in decision and actions affecting their jobs

Conclusion

Working stress is a highly dangerous fact that can be affected to the whole organization. Perhaps now more than ever before, job stress poses a threat to the health of workers and in turn to the health of the organizations. Therefore organizations should be able to mitigate this threat.

  4. Totally agree with your points. In this present scenario Covid 19 pandemic has increased our work place stress more than ever. HR professionals should find ways to increase worker morale and minimize workplace stress. Adding more to the author, HR can develop wellness programs, provide fitness opportunities in order to reduce work place stress.
Job-related stress can drastically affect physical health. It often leads to erratic eating habits and lack of exercise, causing in weight problems, high blood pressure, and raised up cholesterol levels.
My point of view is that employees also can deal with the job stress in positive way, 10minuites of “personal time” and a small chat with a friend about a non-job topic will help you to refresh and positively impact on mental outlook. We should set practical and realistic standards for ourselves and others. We should not expect perfection.

  5. According to Csikosova & Szombathyova, (2000) a major problem in preventing the work-related stress is the ignorance of employees themselves as to what exactly the stress is, what its symptoms are, what consequences it may exercise on them, what consequences it may have for the company, or what stressors can occur in the work process.
Therefore, it is much important that educate the workforce about the work place about the work stress. So, workers would identify themselves whether they under the work stress or not.
